Swissten USB/Lightning data cable with high-quality textile braid and metal connector covers. With a length of 2.0m, it is suitable for trucks, family cars or for people who recharge frequently and have a power outlet far away and need to make a call while recharging. The cable is reinforced to carry a higher current (up to 3A) and can also handle fast data transfer rates of 480 Mbps. The bend life of the cable is more than 10,000 bends. The metal connector cover is more resistant to mechanical damage than conventional plastic connector covers.
Technical parameters:
Cable thickness
- two tinned copper conductors, where each 22 AWG 70/0.01 (that is, each conductor has 70 strands 0.01 mm thin, (e.g. the original Apple MD818 cable has 37 strands 0.08 mm thick) + outer sheath TPE (soft plastic)
- two tinned copper data strands where each 28 AWG-12 + outer sheath TPE (soft plastic)
Connector cover
- material: anodized aluminium
Anodizing or anodizing is a type of chemical and thermal surface treatment of aluminum products (abbreviated as ELectrolytic Oxidation of Aluminum). It consists in the formation of a protective layer of aluminium oxide on the surface to be treated. This layer does not oxidize any further and thus protects the aluminium itself from oxidation. It is used, for example, in aerospace (and automotive) production, but most often in cases where aluminium is used outdoors, e.g. in aluminium windows, etc. The advantage is that the material is protected against weathering after a thin layer has been formed.
